I left school at 16 and worked in the City as an administrative officer. At 21 I went on to have my 3 children and did various jobs that would fit around my family life. As the children got older I decided to go back to school! After undertaking a college access course I went on and completed a joint English/History degree at Queen Mary University London as a mature student, combining full-time studies with part-time work as a PA to Head of Department in a college. This obviously tested my organisational skills but I loved it. Working in the college is where I found my love of being a PA. I found no 2 days were ever the same and had a sense of fulfilment knowing I was helping my boss to be able to concentrate on the important stuff!
